Strong communities don’t happen by accident—they’re built by people who step up. The Almaden Valley Community Association is looking for volunteers who want to use their skills to support community dialogue, local engagement, and neighborhood connection.
Our current volunteer opportunities are listed below. Each role plays an important part in helping AVCA serve the Almaden community.
Hybrid Meeting & Livestream Coordinator
Be Part of AVCA’s A/V Team & Help Keep Almaden Connected
The Almaden Valley Community Association (AVCA) is seeking an experienced Volunteer Hybrid Meeting & Livestream Coordinator to join our A/V team and help run smooth, reliable hybrid meetings.
This role’s primary focus is managing Zoom and livestreaming (Facebook or YouTube) for our monthly meetings, with the ability to assist the A/V team as backup when needed. We’re looking for someone who already has hands-on experience and is comfortable running live meetings independently.
Your Role:

Manage Zoom for AVCA’s monthly hybrid meetings

Livestream meetings to Facebook or YouTube

Coordinate with the A/V team on audio and video needs

Monitor Zoom participants, chat, and troubleshoot issues in real time

Serve as backup support for basic A/V tasks when needed
Who You Are:

Experienced running Zoom meetings and livestreams

Familiar with basic A/V equipment and concepts (microphones, cameras, sound)

Calm, dependable, and confident during live events

Comfortable working with minimal supervision

Able to commit consistently to the scheduled meeting time
Time Commitment:

Once a month

Second Monday of the month

Approximately 5:30 – 9:00 PM

Social Media Manager
Help Strengthen the Voice of Almaden Valley
The Almaden Valley Community Association (AVCA) is looking for a Volunteer Social Media Manager to help us connect, inform, and engage with our vibrant Almaden community.
If you're someone who enjoys crafting messages, sharing stories, and building community through social media—we’d love to work with you! This is a great opportunity to make a local impact, grow your communications skills, and help elevate the work AVCA does for the residents of Almaden.
Your Role:

Manage and grow AVCA’s presence on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, and YouTube

Create engaging posts about local events, city updates, issues, and AVCA initiatives

Develop a content calendar and stay consistent with AVCA’s tone and values
-
Track community engagement and adjust strategy as needed
Who You Are:

Familiar with social media platforms and tools (Canva, Meta Suite, etc.)

Strong writing and communication skills

Reliable, creative, and community-minded

Ideally a local resident (or highly familiar with the Almaden area)
